The COMAND project brings together experts from neurosurgery, anesthesiology, hematology, neurology, neuroradiology, intensive care, cardiology, geriatrics, and implementation science. This broad collaboration reflects our core philosophy that optimal coagulation management in neurosurgical patients can only be achieved when disciplines work hand in hand.
Our Story & Philosophy
The COMAND project was founded in 2023 by Dr. Menno Germans at the University Hospital of Zurich. What began as the vision of one individual has grown into a multidisciplinary collaboration. Today, the COMAND consortium unites specialists from multiple fields with the shared goal of making surgical care safer and more evidence-based by improving coagulation management in neurosurgical patients .
